So, I'm thinking of changing the Beast's name to Adam-Louis Chalamet and making him some sort of former lord or prince from a small kingdom in France who flees to Lunaville due to his monstrous appearance, thinking there is a solution to free himself from the curse. But I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for how could he get cursed in the first place? I don't think the movie's reasoning would exactly work in SOM without some changes to it.
And maybe he becomes a counselor because he understands the pain and struggles that people go through when they look at you differently, along with believing that Arcane may have the solution he desperately needs.
But what do you guys think? I'm open to any ideas if you guys have any. ^^

I mainly think of magical property that was stolen by a person's ancestor, and the person themselves in question suffering for it years later, but it could also be a case of Beast/Adam accidentally mishandling a magical item, and it backfiring on him. Curses, in most series, can and occasionally will happen on a whim.

I was thinking maybe the curse can be hereditary, like a ancestor for like hundreds of years ago or something angered a spirit by destroying scarred land this as punishment every male in theyre bloodline must bare the curse of the beast. And as a interesting way to tie it to a NPC to Lunaville maybe the ancestor was a lord from France but came to lunaville and the spirit he angered was the nowhere king. But I like your idea too DD.

I honestly like both of your ideas. Though I admit, having Adam's curse be somewhat connected to the Nowhere King could provide some interesting story arcs later down in the RP, plus I could see it affecting Belle's relationship with Adam too. Sorry, not sure how to reply to more than one person XD

Of course, you could always try to combine the ideas. Like, say a magical artifact was taken from a small shrine of the Nowhere King by a member of Adam's family, and it eventually made it's way into his hands years later as a descendant, or something like that.

Rather curious since I started working on Adam's bio the other day..what should the magical artifact be that gets stolen? I'm having it that his father owned a famous publishing company while his mother was a writer (explaining the enormous library in their home etc) but she had fallen ill when Adam was a young child, making his father grow distant from his son.

Maybe sense the family has a lot of writing surrounding itself so maybe an enchanted Quill the nowhere king made himself?

Or his mother could've been affected and that was why she got 'ill' because she didn't want her son to see what the curse did to her?

That sounds super interesting. Glad to hear And perhaps for the reason why Adam's ancestor even bothered to take the quill in the first place because he was a terrible writer or something along those lines and wanted to search for a quill that could help them succeed without realizing the implications that might cause? The quill could even be rose-cented/colored to reference the rose from the original film XD
