Hi all, I'm sure as some of you are aware, I'm in the process of making Amity's SOM bio, I'm just having an issue with trying to figure out what could be the main straw that finally causes Alador to say enough is enough.
My idea is this: that once Odalia tries to get Amity to stop being friends with Willow, unlike canon, Alador has more of a backbone and finds the idea silly and tries to reason with his wife before it turns into a heated argument. After countless of fights, Alador finally has it and decides to divorce his wife. Just not sure on what the final straw would be for Alador yet.
I'll probably still keep her being aloof and uncertain to Luz when they first meet each other, but I want her to be more like her current self than an outright bitch/bully like she was in the beginning of the first season.

Considering Odalia's goals and reasoning in the series (which I actually took a quick look at on the wiki for, since I haven't had the chance to fully watch the show, and I aim to change that very quickly XD), I'm thinking maybe in this RP universe, Odalia might come from an old and noble magical family that doesn't necessarily look kindly upon the non-magical and those whose magic aren't "powerful" or "mighty", or those who aren't of noble or powerful blood, possibly from a time where magic-users had a more powerful role in society then they do in current day.
If she grew up in that kind of environment, and all anyone did was agree with these opinions to the point she took them firmly as her own, it's quite likely that Odalia didn't quite recognize this was actually a form of classim/prejudice, until she encountered others who called her out on it, such as Alador, who could call her out on it during their argument about Amity being friends with Willow.
If Odalia refused to change her views or opinions, perhaps in an attempt to protect herself and not realizing it could very much hurt her family, and maybe even doubled-down on them in times of stress, which would be high due to arguments with Alador, she might say something horrible she doesn't necessarily truly believe all the time, but did mean the moment she said it, and it's bad enough that it's the straw that breaks the camel's back for Alador.
At least, that's what initially came to mind for me.

You really should change that soon because the third season is coming out on October 15th and I'm so stoked for it after the cliffhanger from the previous season. XD But honestly, given the way that Odalia acts in the show, I can see that happening for sure. It would show the different types of magic users in Lunaville and explore the prejudice side a bit more, especially with the wealthier people within Lunaville.

Right. A lot of people in Lunaville generally are very kind and welcoming people, even if they are...heavily chaotic. XD But that doesn't mean there aren't people who look down on others, or believe they're better then the rest of the town due to their wealth, bloodline or magic. While I believe that a lot of the other citizens wouldn't tolerate their behavior, it most likely wouldn't stop some from continuing said behavior.
Especially considering how many of the characters involved in the RP have experienced or dealt with heavily negative to even dangerous experiences with magic, and people's reactions to it, and how it would likely affect how they interact with the aforementioned prejudiced characters.
