Name: Birdy Cephron Altera
Nicknames: Berserker Birdy
Age: 23
Powers: Super Strength, Super Speed
Occupation: Private Detective
Physical Appearance: Unlike most people her age, Birdy is a tall and fit young woman. However, when Birdy is on missions, she has long bright orange hair with pinkish-white streaks running through her back and teal blue eyes. However, when she’s in her civilian attire exploring Lunaville, Birdy uses an alias named Shion Arita as a disguise to help her blend in with the people of Lunaville better and dyes her hair into light brown.
When Birdy goes on her assignments, she puts on a lavender purple striped leotard that exposes her right side and chest. In addition, Birdy also sports a cobalt collar around her neck, two blue fingerless gloves, a yellow belt, and a different pair of boots on each leg. On her right leg, she wears a white ankle boot, while on her left, Birdy slips on a long lavender-white striped boot that reaches just below her knee.
Additionally, Birdy also wears a casual red crop top with an emerald green jacket over it, a pair of blue shorts, and a white belt around her waist. Birdy also puts on a set of brown ankle boots while she wears matching white fingerless gloves on her hands.
Personality: At first glance, Birdy appears as a bright, playful, and bubbly young woman to anyone she sees. She has a habit of joking around and loves to tease her co-workers whenever Birdy can get the opportunity. While Birdy’s laid-back attitude might annoy some people, she takes her job very seriously and does give good advice whenever a person needs it. Birdy also has an issue with controlling her anger, especially when something doesn’t go just right, leading her to kick furiously around in rage as a result. However, when Birdy is on duty, Birdy demonstrates a remarkable sense of responsibility to do what she can to protect the innocent. She would even go so far as to kill to keep the people safe, but only as a last resort, which is something Birdy personally dislikes doing.
Backstory: Originally descended from a long line of magically enhanced super-mages with incredible strength and agility, Birdy was born on an island where magical folk and non-magical folk lived in peace with her mother Violin Altera. Like most children her age, Birdy’s childhood was relatively normal, unfortunately Birdy couldn’t connect very well with the other children as she always liked to talk about fighting crime and longed to become a superhero when she grew up. However, it’s because of this interest in being a ‘superhero’ of sorts and her ferocious temper, Birdy was often mocked by the other children, eventually gaining the name ‘Berserker Birdy’. Still, despite this Birdy refused to give up on her dream of becoming a detective to help solve crimes that the average police couldn’t. Throughout her childhood, Birdy had decided to spend most of her time to herself training every day after school after begging her mother to sign her up for a martial arts class. However, one day after leaving school, Birdy ended up crossing paths with a young boy as he was running away from a group of bullies. Angered by the idea of someone picking on some helpless kid, she sprang into action, much to the bullies shock and eventually ran away. As soon as they were alone, Birdy asked the boy, Nataru Shinmyou if he was alright, which he assured her that he was and eventually introduced himself as Nataru Shinmyou. Soon enough, when it was time to part ways, Birdy had asked him if she could help walk him home, although Nataru assured her he would be fine, Birdy insisted as she didn’t want him to be alone.
From that moment, Birdy and Nataru quickly became close friends by doing things such as training with each other and hanging out every day after school. Sadly, their growing friendship couldn’t last for much longer as one day Nataru revealed that his father recently got a new job in another country. Though upset, Birdy still managed to promise she’d do what she could to keep in touch with Nataru. After that day, Birdy began to train harder than she normally did and spent her time training with her uncle, Tuto, from her mother’s side. It wasn’t until one day when Birdy was in high school, she had come across her uncle discussing something with her mother in the living room, which she eventually learned the reason why he was there was to give her a job offer. According to Tuto, he knew how badly Birdy had a desire to become a detective, so he decided to offer a place at his agency as an intern in Lunaville where she was free to solve crime as much as she desired. Upon hearing this, Birdy was floored with the idea and accepted the offer without hesitation, but her mother wasn’t entirely sure about letting her daughter go so far away. However, after having a talk with her uncle about what it could mean for Birdy, she decided to allow Birdy to go to Lunaville, feeling like it could be good for her. Excited, Birdy thanked them both and promised she would do her best to not cause any trouble as well as making sure to keep in touch with her mother.
Once Birdy arrived at Lunaville, she was in complete awe of the magical scenery that surrounded her and wanted to be able to explore everything off-cases. Being stuck on a small island meant that there wasn’t as many magical activities as it was in Lunaville, or this many citizens living in harmony. Of course, she still needed to find a place for her to stay while she was there, not to mention some extra money as well, but then Birdy remembered something her uncle mentioned about a woman named Irma before she left the island that might be able to help her get settled. Based on the information Tuto gave to her before she boarded the boat, Irma was an agent who might be able to help her settle into Lunaville. When Birdy arrived at Irma’s, she was immediately greeted by an old woman who wanted to know why she was standing in front of the door. After she explained that she was here due to her uncle, Irma agreed to not only help her find a place to stay, and eventually found an apartment closer to the police station. But recommended a few other places like a membership to the local dojo to train, which was something Birdy deeply appreciated. While Birdy still wished that her mother and Nataru was here in Lunaville with her, she couldn’t wait to take on actual cases to fight bad guys and hoped to protect the people of Lunaville the best she could.
