I was thinking for a long time about certain franchises that might have many powers that can be exploited but there were never really explored here yet.
i am thinking in some:
Psychic powers based in Psychonauts.
Mirror powers based in Bloody Mary (Wolf among us/Fables)
Prohibited spells (mostly the three unforgivable spells from Harry Potter, some curses that not meant to be spoken, or voodoo enchantment)
Power based in the moveset of Pokémon/Digimon.
Powers based in classic fairytales or twisted fairytales based in American McGee Grimm.
what others spells and franchises did you think?

Some I can see existing, however, they are forbidden: Like with the prohibited spells. So that's part of the reasons they haven't been explored yet. I imagine once everyone has all their characters up and start RPing, it may be talked about in some of the classes.^^ With the Pokémon and Digimon one, I'm a little confused by that you mean. Do you mean elements users having spells similar to Pokémon/Digimon? Or anyone who could shape-shift into the Pokémon using the move set? With the mirror power and Psychic power being like Psychonaut: Some details with the mirror power may need to be changed up a bit to fit the world based on how the player uses it while, from what I know of Psychonaut, it may be forbidden to normally use if it were to exist within SoM's world. Of course the Fairy tales: It goes with what we mentioned of Disney in the musical thread: There's a chance some Fairy tales may not exist here. Or, if so, not all versions of that Fairy tale exist. It's a lot trickier, and it's honestly something we'll need to think on more before we can give a clear-cut answer. But I am glad you brought it up, so we can think on it. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Like use the moveset of the Pokémon. Like use Dragon Breath, Sleep/Poison/Stun Powder, Fire/Ice/Electric Fang, Poison/iron/Wood Tail, etc… and with Digimon too. Diamond Dust, Data Absorb, Iceclaw, Bubble Burst… also it could be interesting see Pokémon/Digimon and Animorphs (human into beast/ beasts into human)
And there would be others with different Magics through diverse spells JRPGs too. Like one which has the powers of Fire, Water, Stone, Nature, Tone and Beast.
Or about beasts played in almost all Castlevania games.
Perhaps using the nightmare abilities find in Silent Hill, since there are no zombies but other undead creatures like Dullahan and ghouls we can do something with the many creatures that appear in the House of the Dead franchises, use any power combination like mix Fire/earth, earth/energy, nature/water…etc.

I would say the moveset part is a case by case thing, then. Since, for example, someone comes in with their character able to shape-shifted into a Pokémon, we may have it be that it's like the games where they can only perform four move sets. However, that's something I'll need to talk to Tracy on. While with elements users (Like how my character Natsu use fire), I can't see him using any Pokémon move sets but using spells more like the ones he used from the Fairy Tail series: However, if someone wants their character to have an element spell that is a lot like a Pokémon move set, it may be fine.
The diverse spell would be based on the player, their character, and the spell itself, honestly.
With the beasts: It may be based on a number of different things, in full, honestly. If you mean someone shape shifting into the beasts, it would need to be reserved ahead of time, like the other shape shifters. If you mean the creatures existing within the world: Possible. Though if so, I would see most not being located within the forest or town. However, I could see students doing research papers on them or the teacher teaching about them based on the players choices. Though, based on the creature: We most likely would do a poll to see which version is used. Since some monsters have many versions, that can sometimes crash together.
I feel like nightmare abilities would be a tricky one. Tracy and I would need to know details before approving it, same with dream based magic. Mainly to make sure no one is making their character too overpowered. As for the undead and ghosts, that's another tricky one. With the ones from House of the Dead, I don't know if they would exist within the town's or forests limits. Yes, there is Dullahan and Tracy and I talked about having Qiqi as an NCP, but the House of the Dead zombies are completely mindless killing machines.
If the zombies from House of the Dead are talked about, I could see them being brought up as past examples when someone attempted to rise the dead and failed to help explain why that type of magic is normally forbidden.

Granted, based on the character and franchises, the powers would need to be changed completely to fit the world. Some examples would be with characters from the anime Shugo Chara or Dragon Ball Z characters.
Due to how character guardians are in Shugo Chara, their canon powers wouldn't work at all in this setting. And their background would need to be changed completely. So instead of being born from someone's wish/heart, the character guardians would need to be normal fairies a person can befriend, for example.
Meanwhile, with Dragon Ball Z characters, their powers would need to be tuned down greatly, and they wouldn't be allowed all the power up they have in their original series. I would even say if they are meant to keep the monkey tails, they would be like how Raphtalia and Blake are within the SoM world.
