Another day in the offices within the Police Station where each of the members are doing their own schedules and their own business to attend to, a few of the others were doing their best and others their best as possible. And sure, since new members got inside there started to be a few conflicts here and there yet the community within was a must to happen.
The people and sentient ones were starting to live and do everything as possible to keep the city without problems, jail some minor criminals like petty thieves or swindlers that might want to win some money around. Hard to believe how many times they had captured Rigby and let him go with more fines as burden for the many over many times he was captured by his own imbecility.
But those are not days like many that might occur inside Lunaville. Or anywhere inside the city and its limits.
Yet, today was a special day... for Sam and Max mostly, perhaps Michiru, Vector, Chien-Po, Blubs and Durland might be involved or not, or those with more brain cells would be inside their antics as well, sadly for them. Yet they were next their designated desk where many pictures of them can be seen in one part of the offices walls and some gibberish and decoration all over the same furniture with their phone (and spare ones when their calls turned too violent for it) with more bruises than most of the phones all over the desks of their own and respective owner.
Sam would look over the clock while playing his banjo alongside. Making a few tunes that might be accompanied by the rhythmic yet involuntarily noises from the other workers, police officers and guards around the place. He had admitted to himself there is no place like a nice spot where to play and let life proceeds its own changes across. yet he is also craving for some action. Even the wackiest would do.
And today wasn't going to be the exception. In one moment, Max should kick the door from the kitchen where, sometimes, they are called to have some lunch before proceeding with their own works. He looked all over the place yet ignored as his tantrums were always listened, even by mistake, and then went is Sam to slam an empty glass jar where it used to contain something within yet it is now empty. The dog looked over his partner while he started to pronounce the words that make sense in the title as well.
"SAM!!! SOMEONE STOLE ALL COOKIES FROM THE COOKIE JAR!!!"
Loud and clear, Sam looked upon the empty glass where it has the enough space for those biscuits. Then looked again to his partner who was loading his gun and preparing rounds for it. "I swear I hadn't ate them all this time. I left most of them since Almond Cookie is here..." he smirks over the sentient cookie detective yet returning to see over his partner in crime. "...so that means we can do this investigation!?"
"Sure why not?" Sam would put his banjo, once he stopped playing, beneath the desk where many things are also there. "Okay, now we should interrogate who to proceed with?"
"Halt!! I will not allow you to turn this whole business into a moving circus!!" Copper howled as blasted his desk off to encounter the duo who might pull on of his tricks once more, yet ignored as usual.
"Sorry but we are taking this personal. They really had messed up with our delicacies!" Max outbursts while he was loading off his shotgun from his pockets. "AND no one take off my delicacies without my consent!!"
"Sorry Copper, but once my partner has my eye on something that is amiss, even I cannot convince on the contrary." Sam responded to his dog fella companion yet preparing to assist his friend if things get unhanded.
"Sam, this is a serious business. We are not just mere actors and actresses who would play in a show for someone's entertainment, we are taking responsibilities as well. Besides..." She was speaking while picking the container where the cookies were. Then, she would put it over the desk in-between her and Sam who shall keep his eyes on Jean's face. She returned her sight over Sam and his partner's. "...we should take serious business not small things."
"Jean, you know we cannot take our eyes from the small details. This is not our style at all. Also we have been working like this since we became freelance police and we kept been doing so after been recruited inside Lunaville's. Also worry not, we are not going to destroy anything...yet...until find out who might stole the cookies off." Sam chuckles little to put tensions off for a simple joke Max had pulled just to make his partner more awake. "Anyways, we should find clues on who was the one if take off the cookies first..."
He looked upon the container's place where Jean put it, yet he would discover the container is no more in that place. He looked towards his partner while giggles.
"You cracked me up, little buddy. Max return the cookie container so we can proceed to find out the fingerprints on who might be stole the delicacies."
"What container? Sam, you know I save my guns only in my pockets." Max would respond at Sam with a small grin from his face yet it started to lower as there was something not right. "Wait... where is it? No, better question... where is the...?"
"It was taken off..." Copper, who was nearby detected it the same thing. Also his eyes were not over the object as he was more observing Max's next movement.
"NOO!! They had stolen the Cookie Jar!!" Max screamed once more.
"Hey, come on. It should be here... around... perhaps it rolled off the desk as we were talking..." Jean was convinced the thing just moved off as they might did something while their eyes were not around. Nevertheless, as she looked around as with Sam's help, both cannot find the object. And the office all four are is shared with other who are taking their turns for patrolling. It took less than an hour realize the container is not more with them. "Okay, this is not right."
"Of course is not right!! They had taken the cookie jar as hostage!!" Max panics before Sam slapped his head. "Do that again! I like it!"
"Not now. We should focus on the whereabouts of the container. This was a container-napping! And we should resolve it! I hope Roy would let us do this. I am sure he would..." Sam was going to say something until.
"Absolutely not!!" Roy was wandering about the rambunctious stuff Max and Sam are doing and might be pulling right now. "You are not going to take this thing as a case that would keep our attention occupied. Besides, you are all grown-ups to eat cookies. We are not a stereotype. So, better return working!"
"Oh, Roy~" the voice of Maes appeared from behind as the man puts his hand over Roy's left shoulder as an old friend would do. "Come on, don't be that harsh. Also, I know whenever you want to take a break, you pick some of those cookies off the jar." Maes smirks little yet he looked upon the four who were around the mysterious and missing object. "Also I assume this is not a particular easy task too. Am I right, Jean?"
Jean sighed as she knows the whole situation.
"Captain Roy, as stupid it sounds and absurd it looks, we should investigate about this robbery. Even if this object has nothing of valor to us; this proves, as the security service and protection members of Lunaville, we are uncapable to deal with some petty thievery. I am not sure if there is a citizen who can teleport small objects or make them disappear. if we cannot resolve something that was stolen from our very noses, then, how shall the citizens from Lunaville trust on us?"
Roy looked on the whole thing and then on Maes, yeah, they have a responsibility to protect and serve as a beacon of hope to those in distress or with problems. Even the slightest of them all. He would sigh as he was trying to not involve the freelance police again.
"Okay, you can proceed with this investigation. As long as you discover who is the thief that is behind all this... if there is one to begin with..." his eyes shot daggers upon Max as he thought the bunny pulled another trick from his sleeves...or whatever he might be wearing. He would continue until someone rushed in and tackled him over.
"Thieves!!? Did someone said the word I looking for!?" Koichi would be around as hound ready to fetch said object. "Don't worry. As I, Koichi Zenigata, I shall help you out in trap the thieves. If you need something, don't be afraid to tell me."
"How about if you step off from me!?" Roy mumbled beneath. Koichi jumped off letting Roy get up and take off the dust. Even shooting daggers to the giggles Maes is doing. "Okay, you have a mission to be done. Discover who is this petty thief and recover the cookie jar. I'm going to allow this mission, even if it just absurd and, I swear to all the gods from all Pantheons if this is a joke you two pull,..." saying that on Max and Sam who were preparing for whatever Roy is going to tell them after "...so, you can proceed. Miss Gunnhildr will be on charge with the help of Koichi, Copper and you two." He would say, yet he knew another member might had heard as well. "Also, if anyone want to proceed speak now!"
