As the title says, this is a list of farm animals that will appear on Jose Gallard's farm.
Any Lunaville Shelter animals that don't end up adopted that are suitable for farm life can be added to this list, depending on how RPs go for them.
Pets
Paco (Ferdinand) - Jose’s dog that lives on the farm with him and his family. A stubborn and cranky, but affectionate, protective, assertive canine, Paco often keeps an eye on the livestock of the farm to keep them from getting into trouble. He seems to play off any affection for his fellow farm-animals, but it’s clear to everyone that he has a soft spot for them, especially Ferdinand.
The Hedgehog Siblings (Ferdinand) - Pet hedgehogs of Jose’s son, that he left back at the farm while he’s off at college to avoid stressing them out. Their names are Una (oldest sister), Dos (oldest brother) and Cuatro (youngest brother). There was originally a third brother, but sadly, he died when the hedgehogs were babies. They’re a rather mischievous trio, and are prone to wandering around and stealing things from around the farm.
Bulls/Cows
Ferdinand (Ferdinand) - A bull rescued at a young age from a training farm for bullfighting. Despite his actually massie size and strength, Ferdinand is one of the sweetest and most gentle bulls anyone in Lunaville could say that they’ve met. He much prefers helping out Jose with taking care of the flowers and crops on the farm.
Valiente (Ferdinand) - One of the bulls rescued from the same farm as Ferdinand. Due to one of his horns being broken during a bout with a bull sent to a different farm, he was almost sent to the chop house, but was fortunately saved by a rescue organization. A somewhat arrogant but brave, loyal and friendly bull, Valiente isn’t the easiest to approach but people who are rough around the edges tend to find it’s easy for them to approach him. He takes to guarding the edges of the farm.
Guapo (Ferdinand) - One of the bulls rescued from the same farm as Ferdinand. Despite being rambunctious, determined, and confident, Guapo can also get extremely nervous during big events to the point where he gets very nauseous or even passes out, much to Jose’s concern. Because of this, Guapo doesn’t usually participate in farmer events for the sake of his health, to his disappointment.
Bones (Ferdinand) - One of the bulls rescued from the same farm as Ferdinand. The best buddy of Guapo, Bones is definitely one of the more lean bulls, but that doesn’t stop him from doing his best in everything. He’s the fastest and slimmest bull on the farm, so he’s usually the first to get literally anywhere. He’s confident, and a supportive friend to his fellow farm animals, but he doesn’t like to show weakness to any outsiders.
Angus (Ferdinand) - One of the bulls rescued from the same farm as Ferdinand. A bull bought from Scotland, Angus was previously set for failure from the start in the ring due to his long hair constantly blinding him. However, with the help of Jose and James, they’ve cut and styled his hair to allow him to actually see and survive. He’s often loud, and clearly opinionated about everything around him, though it all seems to be in good-nature, from what James can tell. He can often be found just staring at and enjoying nature around him.
Maquina (Ferdinand) - One of the bulls rescued from the same farm as Ferdinand. Apparently, prior to him arriving on the bullfighting farm, Maquina was briefly experimented upon, and seems to have gained quite an…advanced brain, as a result. Maquina has a sort of robotic personality. He is often seen wearing a stern, emotionless expression and rarely smiles. However, Jose has said that he’s still a regular bull in every other way. He’s particularly fond of small fluffy animals, like a bunny that comes to visit the farm.
Maggie (Home on the Range) - An award winning-cow that Jose has had for quite some years. Maggie is one of the more famous members of the farm, due to how many awards she’s won. She has a headstrong and tough personality, so sometimes she clashes with the other animals, but usually she’s a friendly face to everyone, resident or visitor.
Grace (Home on the Range) - One of the cows on Jose’s farm. She is a very sweet, optimistic, and happy-go-lucky cow, and sometimes plays peacemaker between her two headstrong friends. However, she appears to be completely tone-deaf, and unaware she is, to the point of singing, usually off-key, and actually believing she has perfect pitch, much to her friend’s disbelief.
Mrs. Calloway (Home on the Range) - One of the cows on Jose’s farm, and generally seen as the leader. She's generally very prim and proper, but can be temperamental, especially if someone tries to mess with her hat. Gifted to her by Jose’s wife, Mrs. Calloway loves her hat to pieces, and has come close to kicking anybody besides Jose and his wife if they try to take it from her. Jose has noticed that she’s heavily fond of Junior.
Junior the Buffalo (Home on the Range) - A buffalo that Jose nursed back to health with the help of James after finding him injured on the edge of the farm. He’s stuck around ever since. Junior is a very serious-minded and imperturbable buffalo. He also doesn't take kindly to trespassers, and can usually be found patrolling the farm with Valiente. Jose and those who help out at the farm have noticed that he’s particularly attached to Mrs. Calloway, to the point they think he has a crush on her.
Horses
Maximus “Max” (Tangled) - A former police horse from another town that has been retired due to his partner dying in action, and Maximus rejecting any other attempts for another partnership. An extremely serious, devoted to his work, and highly efficient horse, Maximus clearly still wants to work apprehending criminals, but until Jose’s certain he won’t kick a potential partner in the guts, the horse sticks to patrolling the farm and defending it from wild animals and trespassers.
Fidella (Tangled) - A horse that’s been on Jose’s farm since she was a filly. Calm, confident and often teasing, Fidella was bought at a farm auction from a declining farm that was selling competition-bred horses to give them better homes. She’s usually the one to welcome and gently coax new horses into joining their herd, and has been doing so since the first time.
Snowball (Hunchback of Notre Dame) - A former labor horse rescued from slavers and traffickers. Initially, Snowball was given to James to recover from his injuries, but the horse was hostile to the other animals and even the humans at the shelter, to the point where he had to be isolated for everyone’s safety. The only other animals he tolerated were other horses, possibly due to the abuse he suffered under his previous owners. Because of this, he was given to Jose’s horse herd in hopes it would help him realize he was safe. It’s been a few months since then, and while Snowball is still fairly aggressive, the horse has become much more calm and relaxed.
Achilles (Hunchback of Notre Dame) - Rescued from the same owners as Snowball, Achilles was much more calm and relaxed, if a bit skittish around his rescuers. He and Snowball appeared to have shared stalls under their previous owners, as when Snowball begins to act aggressive, only Achilles can get close enough to calm him down without getting hurt. James theorizes that they bonded heavily because of the trauma, and they serve as a comfort blanket to each other, as Achilles only allows Snowball close to him when he’s feeling especially skittish.
Khan (Mulan) - A former adventure-horse who was given to Jose after his owner, Mulan’s father, was forced to retire. Khan is a highly expressive horse, to the point Jose swears that he’s snarking or expressing his annoyance with his more rambunctious fellow farm-animals with just an eye roll alone. He’s fairly no-nonsense and stern, and evidently fond of Mulan, who visits on occasion to see Khan.
Spirit Jr. (Spirit: Stallion/Spirit Running Free) - A young horse that both James and Jose speculate to be Spirit and Rain’s son due to his sheer resemblance to them. A member of a herd that initially ran free in some plains near the mountains, but due to poachers, they reluctantly joined the herd on Jose’s farm, with the coaxing of James and the farmer himself, until the poachers could be arrested. Much like his father, Jr. has a headstrong and courageous nature. He loves to run with his herd, and can often be found sneaking off of the farm to run around. He only lets children and the younger students touch him, outside of those who work and help out on the farm. Because of the fact that it’s quite possible for Spirit and Rain to be family members of the herd, Jose has been talking to James about taking the horses onto his farm.
Esperanza (Spirit: Stallion/Spirit Running Free) - Spirit’s mother. An encouraging, sympathetic, affectionate and patient mare, Esperanza is one of the horses easiest to approach. She is understandably cautious in regards to humans and others, but she is easily coaxed by children, and has been known to even gently nibble at the hair of students who visit the farm. She worries about her son, Spirit, and has asked James about him several times every time the shelter owner has visited the farm for check-ups on the animals.
Chica Linda (Spirit: Stallion/Spirit Running Free) - Spirit’s younger sister, and the second child of Esperanza. From what Jose and James have come to understand from the herd, Chica Linda was born sometime after her elder brother became head of the herd, but before his son was born. She’s sassy, fierce and definitely the type to quietly judge you with a stare, as some farm visitors have said. She looks up to Spirit, and watches over Jr. for him when she can.
Boomerang (Spirit: Stallion/Spirit Running Free) - Jr.’s best friend, and one of the younger horses of the herd. Boomerang is a rather gluttonous, curious and friendly horse. He will eat pretty much anything left unattended, be it hay, apples, sugar cubs or even marshmallows. Despite being a wild horse, he’s rather relaxed around humans.Altivo (El Dorado) - A horse formerly owned by a slave trafficker. Unlike Snowball and Achilles, Altivo isn’t quite so skittish or aggressive towards humans, possibly due to better treatment by his former owner. If anything, Altivo acts as if he’s the one keeping the humans in line, instead of the other way around. He’s expressive, proud, and often acts as if he’s the braincell among the farm…which considering some of the other animals and their antics, is probably true.
Buck (Home on the Range) - A careless, often impulsive and action-driven horse, Buck’s been on the farm for a few years after his old owner, an old friend of Jose’s, retired from a life of rodeo. It’s clear he still misses the action and adrenaline, so he goes searching for his own on the farm, the forest and even in town. The more reckless or adventurous members of the herd often sneak away with him. Thankfully, most of the town knows Buck and vice versa, so it’s not uncommon for them to be led back after a while of adventure.
Chickens/Ducks
Ginger (Chicken Run) - One of Jose’s chickens, and the clear leader of the coop. She was previously owned by a rather abusive and tyrannical farmer, along with the other chickens, where it was clear the effects of living there will affect the flock for the rest of their lives. Fortunately, they were rescued before the worst case scenario could happen. A headstrong, level-headed, natural born leader with a strong spirit, Ginger helps keep up her fellow chicken’s heads when things are looking rough.
Bunty (Chicken Run) - One of the chicken’s of Ginger’s flock, and the resident cynic, who is typically usually the one most skeptical of antics or plans going around the farm. She’s strong, confident, and always the one to point out the flaws in someone’s arguments or planning, occasionally to the point of being aggressive. She can and will peck someone if they annoy her, or try to pull something with Babs.
Babs (Chicken Run) - One of the chicken’s of Ginger’s flock. Babs is a very sweet, innocent, friendly but also silly and slightly dim-witted hen who simply adores yarn and the like, and has, apparently to Jose, tried to knit several times before. Babs is the type of chicken that will let someone just pick her up and hold her with no trouble at all, so she’s a favorite of students of the academy and the elementary school. Bunty is usually the one to set boundaries to people holding her.
Mac (Chicken Run) - The daughter of Fowler, and one of the hens of Ginger’s flock. The most scientifically-smart among all the chickens, Mac is a calm, level-headed and supportive resident among the farm, and can typically be found looking at equations and the like, to some of the town’s bemusement. Because of her intelligence, most of the scientists are highly interested in her, and have asked Jose several times for permission to take Mac to the labs, just so they could see what she did with all the equipment there. For the sake of the mayor’s sanity, Jose has yet to agree.
Fowler (Chicken Run) - Mac’s father, and one of the roosters of the flock. On their old farm, Fowler was actually the one who raised most of the hens, not just Mac, as his own daughters, and he views them all as such. When Ginger isn’t keeping an eye on everyone, Fowler’s usually the one to step up to the plate, and maintains order and discipline in the coop. He is stern, assertive, cantankerous, and a little rough around the edges, but genuinely cares about his charges, and has a good heart.
Rocky Rhode Island Red (Chicken Run) - Ginger’s mate, and a former circus rooster, who has since become rescued for his own safety and health, seeing as he was shot out of a cannon a lot during his time there. Rocky's a very lazy and fatuous individual with a laid-back personality, though he’s also cheerful and does his best to lighten up the mood. However, despite his faults, he is known to be brave and loyal, especially towards Ginger, who helped take care of him after he was rescued from the circus with a broken wing.
Audrey (Home on the Range) - A hen who has been on the farm since she was a chick. She acts as the mother-figure of the younger chickens, due to having her own chicks. Audrey is a kind hen who gets along quite well with her fellow farm animals. However, she is shown to be rather nervous when Jeb talks negatively about any situation, which often worries her enough to panic hysterically.
The Chicks (Home on the Range) - Audrey’s chicks. They don’t display much emotion, besides generally serving as some of the farm animal’s conscience, and guilt-tripping them into behaving or apologizing for any rude or mean behavior by staring at them with big, sad eyes. However, they are known for being rather feisty and eager to peck troublemakers, so Jose believes they’re going to grow up keeping everyone in line. Their names are Goldie, Cotton, Daisy and Clay.
Larry (Home on the Range) - A duck that just followed Jose’s son home one day. Larry is a comical duck who appears to be quite laid-back and carefree. He gets along very well with his fellow farm animals and hardly has any worries or obligations, and tends to just wander around with a bucket. No one’s sure what he does with the bucket.
Sheep/Goat
Shaun the Sheep and the Flock (Shaun the Sheep) - A flock of sheep that Jose’s had since he started the farm. They are one big happy, if slightly dopey, family that has a tendency to create mischief, especially Shaun, the leader. Short-sighted and reckless, the flock tend to be somewhat dumb, but under the proper management and surveillance of Shaun, they can be very productive. Shaun himself is a mild-mannered, creative and somewhat mischievous, young sheep who nonetheless, steps up when it comes to keeping the flock safe. He and Ginger can often be seen hanging around each other when they’re not busy with their respective flocks.
Mei (One Stormy Night) - A mountain goat taken in by Jose after he was orphaned at a young age, due to his mother being eaten. Very sweet, understanding and open-minded, Mei’s actually rather friendly to all kinds of other animals, to the point he’s actually befriended a wolf that visits the farm, Gabu. Fortunately, Gabu has refrained from eating any other animals due to his friendship with Mei, so Jose has taken to feeding the wolf leftovers and some meat bought from the market. Typically, Mei can be found hanging around with Gabu.
Lupe (Ferdinand) - A “calming” goat that lived on the same farm as Ferdinand and the other bulls. Neurotic, occasionally brash and sometimes loud, Lupe is definitely one of the more eccentric animals on the farm. While upbeat, wise-cracking and perky, Lupe does suffer from touch-starvation due to her previous owners, and because of this, Jose typically tries to have her survive as the “guide” for elementary school tours and the like, so the kids can interact with her and give her the affection she needs. Both Jose and the farm staff/volunteers also do their best to help her with this.
Jeb (Home on the Range) - One of the oldest animals on Jose’s farm, and one who has been there from the start. Jeb is a grumpy old goat who is usually pessimistic about everything. He hates it when anyone touches his tin cans that he gnaws on and then saves as part of his can collection. He’s typically rude to his fellow farm animals, but he does care about them…in his own unique way.
Pigs/Boars
Ollie (Home on the Range) - One of the pigs on Jose’s farm, and the piglet’s father. Ollie is an optimistic pig who always tries to see the bright side of things. He gets along very well with his fellow farm animals, though Jeb's grumpy and pessimistic personality makes it rather difficult. He loves his kids deeply, and always worries about their safety.
The Piglets (Home on the Range) - A trio of young mischievous piglets, and Ollie’s sons. Like their father Ollie, the three piggies are optimistic, but also playful and enthusiastic. Being piglets, they love to play and wrestle, often causing mischief, and are shown to be easily impressed by anything. Their names are Bobby, Keaton and Ross.
Hawk (Seven Deadly Sins) - A pig-like spirit who lives on the farm with his brother, Wild, and their mother. An easily annoyed, proud, and typically big-egoed pig, Hawk is nonetheless a loyal friend and companion…even when scared out of his wits. He cares for his friends a lot, and is a bit of a mama’s boy. Hawk also has a rather large appetite, and greatly enjoys eating…to the point he will literally go searching pretty much anywhere for leftovers.
Wild (Seven Deadly Sins) -A boar-like spirit that lives on the farm with his brother, Hawk, and their mother. Wild is a highly emotional creature, often bursting into tears from either pride or happiness. This is typically due to something his brother does, but occasionally, their mother doing something amazing has moved Wild greatly. He cares deeply for his family and is protective towards them, but especially Hawk, due to a time where he almost lost his younger brother while their mother was getting food for them.
Mama Moss (Seven Deadly Sins) - A massive pig spirit, and the mother of Hawk and Wild. A very patient, trusting and kind creature, Mama Moss lived on the area Jose’s farm is currently on before the farmer made his farm, and if questioned, simply says she’s just been waiting for someone to make a home on it. She loves everyone on the farm greatly, but it’s clear that she treasures Hawk and Wild above all else. Mama Moss is very protective of the farm, and typically acts as the last defense should something happen in the town in general.
Ino (One-Punch Man) - A small piglet boar that Jose recently took in, due to one of the volunteers finding him alone with no signs of his parents around. He’s the type to become quickly attached, due to his young age, and persistently stays around the sides of his favorite people, if they’re around. He’s loyal and brave, despite being often scared due to his sheer unfamiliarity with most things on the farm and the like.
