Something me and Darkdarling talked about due to a NPC that should be coming very soon on the student list. Since, while we all enjoy different series, given the nature of the RP…there is always a good chance of a character from a real anime, cartoon, or video game could be brought in as a real person.(nod)
So, this is where this comes from.^^ Many currently listed are shows and such within series, some are meant to be clear parodies of things. Like how Arthur has parodies/homages to real life series.^^
That said, here is what we have so far.^^ Feel free to suggest any ideas you guys may have. I know it currently isn’t a lot, so sorry about that.^^;
Video Games
Saint ♡ Slippery's Academy for Girls: The Young Ladies of the Humiliation Club- Debauched Miracle Life (My Dress Up Darling)- A dating sim meant for 18+, though it doesn’t mean younger teens won’t find ways to play it, Marin Kitagawa being a prime example of this. The character, Shizuku Kuroe, is one of the more popular characters from it.
Comics and manga
Bionic Bunny (Arthur and parody of Superman) - A long running comic with many different versions over the years. Due to this, some versions of Bionic Bunny’s story are aimed towards younger kids, while other versions are aimed at an older crowd. Despite having been written to be one of the purest super hero, companies seem to have a habit of writing stories where he and his allies face an evil alt self, most to older fans’ growing annoyance…
Dark Tiger (Parody of Batman) - Another long running comic, made by the same company as Bionic Bunny. Meant to be a hero who doesn’t have any powers and only uses tools, Dark Tiger’s stories have gotten darker over the years, starting out as stories aimed for kids, but slowly growing for teens and adults. Rather or not the change was a good thing difference from person to person…
Muscle Fish (The Loud House) - Mainly popular among young boys, Muscle Fish tells the story of a magical anthro fish police officer. Has many spin off games and cartoons, it has stayed closer to it’s original tone though out the years.
Cartoons and anime series
Magical Princess Warriors (Parody of Precure series) - A long running magical girl series. Each season is its own story, so it’s easier for newcomers to jump into it. Mainly aimed at younger kids, it has gained a huge following among teenagers over the years due to it’s well-animated hand to hand combine fighting scenes, and willingness to include dark elements to the stories. Tsubomi is a big fan of the series, admitting her favorite character is ‘Princess Sakura/Warrior Bright Flower’ from one of the older seasons.
Friendship Pokémon (Parody of Care Bears) - An older cartoon that was aimed for kids. Despite the show having been pulled from air, it still has a huge following with teens who grow up watching it. Even to this day, while there aren’t any reboots yet, a person can still find new toys and stuffed animals being made of the characters. Mainly uses ‘cute Pokémon’ for the heroes, but there are some more ‘scary’ Pokémon that were used in heroic roles as well.
Books
Henry Skreever (Arthur and parody of Harry Potter) - A book series that takes place in a world where magic isn’t well known and powers are pretty basic. Despite the plot starting off as a series of adventures of a boy and his friends at a magical school, many young kids enjoy the series. To them, it’s a piece of being in the world despite not being old enough to go to magical schools. Teens and adults mainly view the show as humorless fun, though it can be popular among teens as one of those ‘So funny, it’s good’ type of deal. It has been made into a movie series.
Night Fall (Little Witch Academia) - A long running fantasy series. While it has a huge loyal fanbase, those outside it become confused due to certain plot points. Written by a magic user under the pen name Annabel Crème.
Movies (Both animated and live action)
Reptar (Rugrats and parody of Godzilla) - Originally starting off as B-horror movie, the character has done very well over the years. Having different reboots, each improving the effects, plot, and characters, Reptar has a following among mainly teen boys and young adults.
Live action TV shows
Mermaid and Barnacle Boy (Spongebob) - A very old fashion TV show about a superhero and his son fighting crime. Very cheesy with very little special effect, the show is still loved by many to this day. To be, the cheesiest of the shows and the lack of effects give it a special charm, partly due to when it was made. Many parents normally use it when getting their kids into superheroes since it’s filled with light hearted fun. There have been some attempts to reboot the series in a serious tone, but each one has ended in failure so far.
Darkwing Duck (Ducktales 2017) - The show Drake works on. Taking some cues from Mermaid and Barnacle Boy in tones of humor, the show does have an ongoing storyline going on. It’s also willing to handle mature subjects, but in a tone fitting for younger kids.
Musicals
RATS: The Musical (Hey Arnold!) - A musical that has very mixed feelings among anthros. A ‘so corney, it’s good’ type of musical to its fans, it has gained some backlash over the years for anthros, some for rather silly reasons, while others are more for understandable ones. However, some anthros find it harmless fun that shouldn’t be taken seriously, and the writer wasn’t coming from a plan of harm.
Toys
Shelter Creatures (Parody of Pound Puppies) - A series of stuffed animals themed after cute animals and Pokémon. Using the idea of kids adopting their stuffed animals, the creators admitted part of the reason they made the toys was to spread more awareness of adoptions, shelters, and pounds to families with young kids. Some money made from each of the stuffed animals brought is donated to different shelters and pounds across the country.
