Valerie blinked a bit before smiling. So Raphtalia was a sister, too. She had a feeling from the way she compared Valerie being her senior to being an older sister, but this confirmed it.
"If you think it'd be alright, I'd love to meet them." Valerie replied.

"I'm sure it will be fine. Milla and Ame are a little shy at first but they're all very nice once you get to know them." Raphtalia admitted.
She could already imagine how hyper Pudding and Yuki would get during the meeting. Raphtalia could barely keep up with them at times.

"I'm sure they are." Valerie said, smiling. It'd be interesting to see how Raphtalia interacts with her siblings.
The cat anthro then spotted the shop they were looking for, the mall's local stationary store. "There's what we're looking for." Valerie said, pointing it out to the raccoon-girl.

Raphtalia glanced up at the store. She titled her head a little bit: So far it looked pretty basic. From the way some of the others had explained it, she thought it would be a lot different. Through who knew: Maybe it was bigger on the inside. She looked at Valerie.
"Got it." Raphtalia smiled with a nod. "So where would the stuff be in there?"

Valerie knew the store looked unassuming on the outside, but it was definitely bigger on the inside, so the cat anthro knew it would have what Raphtalia needed.
"Should be on the shelves to the right of the store entrance. Since they all fit into the same category, items you need for writing, they shouldn't be too far apart from each other." Valerie explained.

"OK, I think I understand." Raphtalia said.
Besides, she had no reason to doubt Valerie. She started to head inside.
"Course, is there a certain brand I should keep my eye out for?" Raphtalia asked curiously.
One of the adults had explained there would be different styles for the front of notebooks and just. But she had no idea what would fit for a school.

"Hmm..." Valerie thought it over as she followed the half-raccoon girl, figuring it wouldn't hurt to help her look for the stuff, too. There were many brands and styles of notebooks, and a fair amount of them were allowed in the school, so Valerie didn't want to overwhelm her junior student.
"Maybe avoid ones that stand out too much, or would be a pain to handle. You want something that you like and you're comfortable using." Valerie advised.

"Got it." Raphtalia nodded in understanding. "That makes sense."
The standing out part was something Raphtalia knew first hand on things back in her home town. Same with making sure something wasn't too hard to use during her travels. Sure, the half-raccoon girl imagined it wasn't anything at big as what she used to deal with. But it was better safe than sorry.

"But other then that, most brands are allowed in the school, so just pick out ones that you like, and I'll let you know whether it's good or not." Valerie said.
She didn't want Raphtalia to get into trouble because she used the wrong brand or something like that, though she doubted the teachers would give her trouble for it. The academy staff was made up of good people, though there were some questionable ones.

"Sure, that sounds like a plan." Raphtalia smiled. "And if you see anything you need a second opinion, maybe I can help too?"
It felt only right to see if Raphtalia could do so. The anthro was already being super helpful.

"Sure." Valerie replied, smiling back.
The two could help each other out, and the anthro had needed to do some shopping herself, in all honesty. She would have probably held it off for another day, but with Raphtalia's suggestion, she decided she'd just get it done now.

Raphtalia smiled before she started to walk inside. Right away, she got what Valerie meant by the shop was bigger on the inside. There were many different alleys for a certain item and stands set up for things on sale. The raccoon-girl glanced around at the sight.
'This is a lot different from the market place...' Raphtalia thought to herself.

Valerie followed Raphtalia inside, smiling slightly at the raccoon girl's reaction. A fair amount of new students from out of the city often get surprised at the size of some of the stores, too.
Turning right and heading for the aisles containing notebooks and the like, the anthro cat motioned for Raphtalia to follow her. "This way."

"O-OK." Raphtalia nodded.
She quickly followed Valerie towards the aisle. Raphtalia couldn't help but glance around a little bit.

The store seemed a bit intimidating, with it's large size and large amounts of purchasable items, but perhaps with time and more visits to it, it wouldn't be so confusing.
Occasionally glancing back at her junior student to make sure she's still following and not getting distracted, Valerie lead her to one part of the aisle that had simple but cutely-designed notebooks, binders, and writing utensils. The anthro thought they were cute, but was more of a fan of the the cooler and darker designs further down.
"Here we go. I think these will be perfect for you, Raph." Valerie said.
