Oka quietly read her book in her seat as the train sped through the scenery, speeding towards it's destination of Lunaville, sunlight providing a natural lightning for her book from the window. Her book was a fascinating read about the type of spirits that existed, but she found she just couldn't focus at the moment. Sighing in slight annoyance, Oka looked out the window after closing her book, realizing she wouldn't be able to make any headway on reading it for a while.
She still couldn't believe her parents had managed to convince her to sign up for THE Arcane Magia Academy, and that she had actually managed to get in! She wanted to be upset at the reason for her parents making her apply, but honestly, she could understand their worry. Oka just spent all her time up in her room, reading in silence and not really interacting with anyone besides family. Not after that...incident when she was a child. None of the other children wanted anything to do with her after it, and she couldn't blame them, either.
Gently tracing the shape of the choker around her neck, Oka knew that if it weren't for the accessory, she'd have no control over her magic whatsoever, and it'd go completely berserk. She had caused her parents too much worry over the years, so she figured she'd at least give the academy a shot, and hopefully, it could give her a solution to her magic problems. She just had to make sure her choker stayed on, no matter what. For everyone's safety...

Perhaps it was the perspective of the people around her, or the powerful way of people to mind their own business without taking care about what the other passengers are doing in their ride at Lunaville as they were focused with their own cellphones, books or anything near their hands and eyes to keep their attention all the time. The natural shadows of them were no menace nor a beast to threat the passive inside.
Either way, it took small moments before a small mew was heard around, like a small cat had been inside the whole train all the time but no one had, even find it curious or find it quite important to focus on. The small cat was nearby Oka’s seat as a small passenger accompanying the girl all the way yet it was quite curious as it appeared as soon as the train was on the station like it was... destiny? Perhaps. It was not sure. Either way, the cat looked at her. As a pet studying their owner before do anything weird at them to accept their company. Yet this cat, didn’t offer the paw at the girl. Instead, the cat just kept looking at her.
Until. ”My! It is quite hard to see another shadow manifest around these lands. You must be one of the kids who escaped from the wretched place she was restrained... but I can speak from her you are not.” the cat spoke at her, and like one of the many shadows, his tail was part real and part shadow.

Hearing the mew, Oka blinked in confusion as she looked around for the source, finally spotting the small feline near her seat. She surprised to see an a most likely pet out of an carrier, but perhaps it was just well behaved? Even if that were the case, though, where was it's owner? Even weirder was the look it gave her, as if it were sizing her up. Perhaps this wasn't any ordinary cat, at all...?
Her suspicions were confirmed when it spoke up, and she saw how it's tail shifted into a shadow. Ah, a manifestation of a shadow then, which meant a magic-user similar to herself. How...worrying, considering the "wretched placed" the cat spoke of, implying whomever this cat belonged or was created from, was most certainly not in a good place before.
"H-hello, Mr. Feline. May I ask for your name?" Oka asked politely, best not to acknowledge the personal information the cat had possibly unintentionally given to her about his, for that was a male voice she heard, "owner".

The cat looked at the girl with his tail moving side by side as looking beyond the window of the wagon both are. The cat mews once more but the same thing didn’t bother the other passengers. A small chuckle came from his maw. Before could look straight at the girl who was looking at him with strange spheres nervous eyes. As she had seen hell before too. But in another way. Perhaps she was being in other circumstance of bad luck. Likewise, the user whom he belongs.
”Surely, ma’am. My name is Mr. Midnight. And it is quite curious find a new one like you who can see shadows” the cat spoke at Oka as give a courteous smile and bend its body little reverence as well. “Ladies like you must be received with such good manners. Of course, if you are okay with that kind of treats, ma’am”
The cat jumped around as use the shadows to look around until be in the same seat the conversation started. “But, what kind of user are you? I cannot see nothing weird on you” the cat tilted his head soft at the right.

Oka frowned a bit as she noticed that as the feline meowed, no other passengers in the car noticed. Was he concealing his presence from everyone else, or was it only her who could see him? Shadow magic was always a bit confusing, even after all these years.
"A pleasure, Mr. Midnight. My name is Ruto Oka, or as English-speakers say it, Oka Ruto." The young woman introduced herself politely, as the cat had displayed polite manners of his own. Seems he's rather gentlemanly, as well as curious. Her eyes briefly followed him as he swept from shadow to shadow, peering around, perhaps for eavesdroppers? But she doubted there was anyone else who could see or hear him.
Oka chuckled a bit nervously at the cat's curiosity. Questions of that manner always made her a bit nervous. "Unfortunately, I'm not of the same kind as your "user", if I'm assuming right. You're a manifestation, correct? I simply manipulate, I don't have quite the same connection to the shadows." Oka explained. If she did, it likely vanished long ago with the extensive use of her choker to prevent her magic from going berserk as she grew older.

"My, my. That is very unfortunate. I really hope there are others like my user. Nevertheless, I expected this would happen too" Midnight mentioned while looking around as could sense a shadow moving around near someone who was reading some book.
The shadow, unlike the cat near Oka, it was more shapeless. Like a demon-of some sort that was wandering behind the man's back as ready to take off the soul of the same but it wasn't the case for the monstrosity that didn't care much about the mortal as it slithers the way around the room and around the seats until escape from the window of the vehicle tha keep moving as the whistle of the same advises the travel is going to end.
"Seems one of the shadows followed me" Midnight spoke as looked on Oka "Fear not, those shadows are close from the one who I am all the time. Except this precise moment. I am here to know more about the creatures and people who might have shadow like powers. A real needle within the hay" The cat goes around the seat as being near the legs of the girl. "It would be an honor and knightfully, if you allow me to guide you around" bowing at her with gentle attitude.

Blinking curiously as the feline seemed to focus on something, Oka followed his line of sight and tensed a bit at the sight of the shapeless, more demonic-looking shadow, watching cautiously as it slithered around the car then out through the window as the train's whistle blew, signaling their arrival to Lunaville.
Hearing Mr. Midnight tell her not to be afraid, that the shadow she just saw came from the same person as he did, was a shock. How did one's magic manifest a cat like him, and then a creature like that? Either their "user" was possibly not in a healthy-mindset, had a rather active imagination or they brought forth something they weren't meant to from the shadows, either way, none of those options seemed good.
Smiling as the feline gracefully bowed, politely offering to show her around, Oka smiled as she got up to gather her belongings. "Thank you, Mr. Midnight, I think I'll take you up on your offer."

“Don’t worry, I shall serve you well as guide. It is what my user used to do when she was in trouble,,,” the cat mentioned as waited as the train makes another whistle as the engine of the same was turning off to let all passengers took their belongings and make their way at the entrance of the same vehicle to get off. While others stay inside as the station is not their stop. The cat stretched as a normal cat might do, as he walked among the humans, didn’t care if someone step over him. By being a shadow, it was he didn’t suffer from the tramples as they pass through his body like some kind of smoke. “Worry not about me. I shall wait for you until you are ready to depart from here...” Midnight spoke politely. As remained there as has some kind of loyal attitude with gentlemen manners.
The people and creatures made their way out as they picked their own luggage, backpack and suitcases from the superior storages over the seats, and some going at the wagon where the big equipment was kept safe. There were nothing more that happened as all didn’t see the cat no matter what. Yet, as loyal and patient, Midnight stayed there until the girl do something to guide her at the point she wants to go.

Oka fortunately didn't have that many bags, just a large duffle bag of personal items that could fit in it, a suitcase or two full of her clothes, and a backpack full of items she used to keep herself entertained on the train ride. As she gathered her luggage, and began to adjust it so she could comfortably carry all of it, she would send brief glances to make sure Mr.Midnight was still there.
She didn't think he would run off on her, but he was a feline. His attention could have been caught by something else for the moment. Fortunately for her nerves, he was waiting patiently. Finally done, she picked up her luggage, and walked over to the cat.
"All done, Mr.Midnight. Would you happen to know how to get to the academy, by any chance?" Oka asked, smiling. Usually, by now, she'd have gained her usual stutter back, but perhaps because this feline was something familiar, shadow magic, it didn't return.

"Sure. I would be more than pleased to guide you where the Academy is. It is a large travel but not so long from where we are right now" Mr. Midnight mentioned as it moved around the crowd and around the feet of the sames while walk through the shadows they generate.
It goes outside the train by watiing at Oka in all times. As a small guardian waiting for the master. Of course, the cat is wondering if her power can interact with them someday, but that would be another thing to be told. For those instances, he was out the vehicle at some steps where there are some benches placed around the corners and before some stairs to have access at the upper levels and some at the bottom ones. Like it was an omen of some sort, the shapeless shadow from the beginning was around the train station as well. But looking at other people around but not so far where Mr. Midnight is. The cat noticed its pressence but gave it little importance.
He moved its tail side by side. Waiting for the girl to walk through the hallways and through the stairs. Until arrive at the entrance of the building.

"Thank you," Oka said, following the shadow a bit of a distances behind, lagging because of her luggage and the crowd, though she was thankfully able to keep Mr. Midnight in her line of sight. As she followed him, the teenager wondered what his user was like. Were they around her age, or younger? Maybe even older? And the terrible place he mentioned she had escaped from...hopefully, for this person's sake, they didn't come looking for them if they truly meant them harm.
As she stepped off the train and onto the platform of the station, she once again spotted the shapeless shadow from the corner of her eye, peering around at the other people in the station. It seemed harmless, at the moment, but maybe she should ask about it, just in case?
"Um, pardon me, but is it alright for that shadow to be going around like it is? Sorry if I sound rude, by asking so..." Oka asked quietly, not wanting to draw unwanted attention as she walked towards the entrance of the station to begin the trek towards the academy with the shadow feline.

The cat couldn't but ask himself what is happening around, there is no more trouble to be worried about. However, seems some scars are heavy to take off just by imagine there was nothing more devastating. But how to be sure?
"Unfortunately, this is one of many shadows that appear sometimes around. It is not her fault" Mr. Midnight said in whispers, unknowing if Oka is listening "However, we cannot imagine HER inside that building much longer. we did all we could to help her getting out..." the cat looked around as he was kinda somnambulist; until he looked on Oka. He popped out from the thoughts he was having..
"Pardon me, the thing about the shadow making those sightseeings around Lunaville is most based in something that involved our user...we cannot offer much information about what happen to her. She had seen many things and she wanted to not remember that injuries already scars" Mr. Midnight mentioned at her once more. The crowd around the station was normal as crowded but not enough. Letting the girl walk off without complications. "Better not lose me from sight. This town might be small, but there are many avenues one can get lost easily" warning about.
The shapeless shadow just moved around the corners as slithering around as a snake through the roofs and through some open windows as well. Bothering no one while going through.

Oka nodded in understanding at the vague explanation the feline had given her, which was more then enough for her to at least somewhat understand the situation...she thinks. Mr. Midnight's user suffered through what sounds like a lot of trauma at the place she was previously at, and possibly as a result of said trauma, her magic sometimes just...causes shadow to pop out and wander around, exploring Lunaville for whatever reason.
She supposed it was understandable, were it not for the magic-controlling choker around her neck, her own magic might have gone on to do such things itself. A world of possibilities ran through her mind at the thought, but she shook it off. Those were not possibilities for her, but rather, other hers that might have been dealt a better or worse hand in regards to her magic. But better not to get too involved in those thoughts.
Either way, the young woman didn't press further, simply following Mr. Midnight as the feline walked in front of her, guiding her to the academy where, just maybe, a good future awaited her. Oka didn't look back at the shapeless shadow as it moved around the building, paying it no further mind after the cat's explanation.

Eventually, the cat was walking on streets he used to stroll with the one who always is nearby with. It is one of those days when he could stretch his feline body and make company on the one who can count with. Despite the many other things she can make too. Either way, the cat was loyal at Oka. Whenever she stops to look around he waited but by making a small sign using his tail to continue fowards. When crossing a road where shadows are, he stays as a black cat might be seen. Barely seen but there at all moment.
Mr. Midnight accompanied Ms. Oka all the way around the corners of the city. There weren't much to see but the locals doing their own stuff and their own things as well.
"And tell me, Ms. Oka... Why you are here at Lunaville and your interest in coming at the Academy? Is it related at the magic you are carrying within that collar around your neck?" the cat asked at the girl as kept the walk... As talk for a while to not make the whole thing boring.

Following close behind Mr. Midnight as he lead her through the town, Oka looked around in interest at everything that caught her eye, occasionally briefing pausing to get a closer look at things or places that caught her interest more then the others. She never took too long though, keeping in mind that it wasn't polite to keep the feline waiting.
Thankfully, he didn't seem become annoyed at any of the times she stopped, just waving his tail to remind her to keep moving. Pausing a moment at Mr. Midnight's question. Taking a moment to think of how to answer it, Oka was surprised she wasn't being nervous or anxious about it. Perhaps because he was a shadow himself and wouldn't judge.
"You see...unfortunately, when I was younger, my shadows were very...difficult, to say the least. At the slightest sign that I was upset, they just came out and tried to get rid of whatever made me upset. Nobody could take the chance that they wouldn't hurt others or even myself if it continued, so I was given this choker to help me control them." Oka explained, leaving a few small details, such as the fact that they did indeed harm someone, and that if her choker ever came off, her magic would very liekly go completely berserk.
