In the staff room at Arcane Magia Academy, two men were having tea together quietly as they enjoyed the sweet silence by themselves. Kazuaki had his wings folded, half asleep like always as he sipped his chamomile tea. As expected, Alastor’s smile never wavered as he drank his own concoction. Yes, it was relatively peaceful...
... until the door was kicked open.
In stepped in a man who was almost eight feet tall with long dark hair that reached to his shoulders and tan skin. His blue eyes seemed mismatched with one of them dilated. He was a strong man with a heavy build: muscles but a bit of a belly as well. His white t-shirt, gold-colored jacket, and purple pants seemed normal or almost dull compared to the shiny jewelry and decorations adorning him. The one accessory that stood out was a necklace with a small golden fishhook charm. He was barefoot save for the peg leg in place of his left leg. Freckles scattered his cheeks and his bright smile was made brighter by a golden tooth near the top right row. This could only mean one thing: Tamatoa had arrived.
“The fun has arrived~!” The shapeshifter announced.
Kazuaki fell asleep as Alastor commented without looking up. “Ah, the bright beacon of a crab is here to spread the news while blinding everyone in the vicinity.”

Behind Tamatoa, a woman with long white hair poked her head around him, nodding at the sleeping harpy and deer demon in greeting before frowning slightly at the shapeshifter.
"Tamatoa, pardon me, but I have to get through, so could you kindly step aside for a moment?" Mirajane politely requested her fellow shapeshifter to move aside. She had been walking down the hall when she spotted Tamatoa, and had sped up, hoping to get past her fellow shapeshifter at the door before he had gotten to it, but alas. The crab liked to make an entrance, and she hadn't wanted to disturb it, though it did get a tiny bit annoying at times.
However, she would be getting into the staff room whether he moved willingly or not. Mirajane had a set tea-time for herself, and she was not about to change it.

“Once again, I’m ignoring your comments, Alastor. Anyway, I just wanna say thank you for making me the Magical Crea- Oh, sure. Go ahead.” Tamatoa briefly stepped aside for Mirajane to walk in before he posed again. “The Magical Creatures 101 teacher. You’ll see I’m the perfect man for the job! So much so that I’d bet I’ll be one of the most popular teachers in this school.”
At that, Alastor laughed. “You? Ahahaha! As soon as your students lay their eyes on you, more than half will drop out while being blinded by your shine.”
“You’re one to talk, Mister I’m Also Staring Out My First Year As A Teacher Here. You’d send them runnin’ to the hills in just five seconds after seeing you!”
“To be honest, I’ll just be glad to have five students this year....” Kazuaki yawned.

"Thank you." Mirajane said, walking over to the table they had set up for coffee and tea. Looking over the choices, Mirajane smiled as she picked a tea bag of caramel, placing it into her favorite teacup, one her adopted son Natsu had gotten her for her birthday a few years back. Carefully picking up the kettle full of water, still hot from Kazuaki and Alastor's use of it, and poured into the teacup before placing the kettle back down.
Letting the tea stew, the female shapeshifter turned to watch the men talk for a moment before putting in her input.
"I'm sure you'll get plenty of students, Kazuaki. And at least you three don't have to worry about your students trying to eat each other...again." Mirajane sighed as she thought back to the previous years. Said situation has happened too many times, for her liking. At least last year wasn't so bad, only one student decided they were hungry for shapeshifter.

“You think so?” Kazuaki blinked. “I know there are people who like math like me and it’s essential. But here, students pick their own classes. Out of the four main regular academics, who would willingly choose math? Not a lot.” Taking another sip, he added in a softer tone. “With those two, you have to worry about the opposite happening.”
“I heard that. And just to let you know, I would never eat my students. It’s against my moral code and they don’t have enough meat on them anyway.” Alastor said. When silent stares answered him, he added. “Kidding!”
“Nah, you’re right. It’s like looking at little grains of rice. ‘Sides, I wanna keep my job, thank you. The point is, the more students you have signing up, the more attention you’d get, right? I’m willing to bet that I’ll have the most students out of all the other classes!” Tamatoa claimed as he strode to make himself some coffee.
“Based on what grounds?” Alastor asked.
“Simple: I’m amazing and who can resist taking care of a magical creature, huh?”

"Math is still an important skill to have, and I'm sure at least a few students will take it." Mirajne reassured the harpy, nodding a bit in agreement with what he said about the two other teachers in the room. No offense, but they did look like they ate students for breakfast.
"That is true, I did take Magical Creatures 101 myself when I was a student, and it was rather fun. Dangerous at times but fun." Mirajane smiled at the fond memories, taking her teacup and straining the teabag by pressing it against the side of the cup with a spoon before removing it, and adding honey and sugar. Taking a sip, she was happy to find a delicious taste on her tongue.

“See? She gets it!” Tamatoa smirked at Mirajane, then added. “I already have a student who’s definitely staying for the course.”
“Ah, your new son, I take it?” Alastor took a sip from his tea.
The crab shapeshifter pinched the bridge of his nose. “For the last time, he’s not my son! He was this random kid I saw wrecking the town one night who’s suddenly attached to me for some reason.”
“That and his mother asked you to keep an eye on him.” Kazuaki piped up.
Alastor chuckled. “More like almost beat him to a pulp if he didn’t. At least, that’s what I heard.” Granted, he wasn’t there when that happened, but it was still a funny mental image.
Tamatoa scowled as he poured coffee in his own large mug. “What about you and your new son, Alastor? The boy ya found at the beach the other night?”
“Seven? He’s not my son as well. And he’s still choosing his classes. He’d want to keep his options open just in case. He did tell me he was thinking about taking Alchemy.”

Mirajane giggled as Tamatoa protested, once again, to the fact that the boy he stopped from rampaging considered him a fatherly figure now. Like Alastor, she wasn't there, but it was a rather funny mental image, indeed. And it seemed Alastor was a similar position, now, too.
"By the way, how is Seven doing? Is he adjusting alright?" Mirajane asked the deer demon. The poor boy had been rather wary of herself and her fellow teachers, at first, which likely meant he had been in contact with adults that did him harm, but she hoped he would be able to trust them at some point.

"He's doing quite well. Taking things one step at a time. He usually keeps to himself and I admire that. He's learning American sign language on his own, but he prefers to write things out on paper. I believe he'll be more comfortable around children his age or the smaller creatures here. He seems to trust me and the Headmistress for now. He'll be fine." Alastor noted.
"Speaking of students we have adopted, I checked on Nanami last night. She was kind of nervous about going to school and becoming the new owner of the shrine, but after I gave her some encouragement, she seemed better." Kazuaki said, a little more awake than before.

"That's good to hear." Mirajane said in response to Alastor, with a little relieved smile. It was good that the boy was able to relax around the students, at least.
"I hope Nanami doesn't take too much on herself. While she is the new owner of the shrine, I hope she knows she can ask for help so that she doesn't overwork herself with it and her studies." Mirajane said, taking another sip of her tea. The girl had her work cut out for her, but hopefully, it won't be too much for her.

Ragna was mumbling to himself as he headed to the staff room. Already things were getting a bit crazy with the new arrivals, between the students themselves and their pets. It seemed like every year, someone with plans of chaos came into the school. Granted, he wasn't really one to talk. There were a few pranks Ragna used to pull as a student and times he got into trouble. As long as they didn't do it in any classrooms and the pranks were all in good humor, he didn't give a damn. Now, if it was mean spirited or cause trouble in classes...then there was going to be a problem. Big time if he saw it happen first hand.
He walked into the room and quickly noticed the other teachers inside. Some of the returning teachers and new ones...Alastor and Tamatoa if he recalled correctly. He swore, Isabelle seemed to allow a lot of weirdoes to teach here...then again, Ozpin did the same thing back when he was the headmaster. Maybe it was just a thing with the school's headmasters and headmistresses?
"Um, bad timing?" Ragna asked with his arms crossed.

Elsa enters the room, she had just come back from a meal with her sister Anna and she had already set up her classroom for the upcoming start of the year. Elsa notices the teachers, she hasn't really gotten to meet all of them but she was aware some of them were new like her while the rest are returning teachers here. She was a bit nervous but she was ready to meet with them, she'll admit it felt like she had entered the room at a bad time like they were all in the middle of a conversation.
"Oh hello..." Elsa spoke to her fellow teachers as well, she did feel a bit intimidated by see the rest of the staff but she stayed calm.

Upon seeing the two teachers enter the room, there was a mischievous glint in Tamatoa’s mismatched eyes as he smiled, his golden tooth shining as well.
“Perfect timing, you two~!” With a graceful slide that seemed impossible for a muscular wall like Tamatoa to pull off, he slid behind Ragna and Elsa, wrapping each arms around their shoulders. “I was just waiting for some more teachers to place a friendly bet with.”
“Elsa, dear, please freeze the crab before his ego goes through the roof.” Alastor said.
Kazuaki just simply nodded and drank the rest of his tea, usually keeping to himself whenever there was a commotion between the staff.

Mirajane smiled at the sight of the two other teachers. While she has known Ragna for a few years now, Elsa as a newcomer was someone she had wanted to talk to for a bit, now. The young woman was obviously nervous about being a new teacher, and as someone who had been through it, wanted to help her more at ease.
She was surprised at Tamatoa's grace though, blinking as she took of her tea, she didn't expect it from the male shapeshifter. Sweatdropping at Alastor's words, Mirajane chuckled sheepishly.
"Now, now, I don't think she'll be freezing anyone, today." Mirajane said.

Elsa didn't feel comfortable using he magic in that manner especially after the near death of her sister Anna, the most she ever uses her powers if in self defense, however . So she smiled a bit nervous and kinda swatted Tamatoa's hand away from her shoulder, she didn't want to gamble thats not really her thing she never found the appeal of such things.
"Mirajane is right, I don't plan on freezing anyone today. However I'm not really the one for bets, Tamatoa." Elsa explains to the fellow teacher she went to get herself a drink.
