Name: Belle Beauregarde
Age: 21
Class: English and Drama
Powers: None
Personality: Normally described as a beauty and an odd person by most of the townsfolk in her village. Belle is a highly intelligent woman with an elevated vocabulary, an active imagination, and an open mind. Constantly dreaming of adventure, She's very confident and outspoken in her opinions, and seldom likes being told to do, refusing to be mistreated, undermined, humiliated, demeaned or controlled by anyone. But despite this, she is willing to listen and get advice from people like her father and considers the options that are given to her. Her smarts and free-thinking attitude have made her stand out not only from the people in her village but among her fellow teachers. Unlike some people, Belle isn’t concerned about her or other appearances, and she is able to look past how people appear to be.
Belle is quite resolute when it comes to voicing her opinions and maintaining her ideas. She can be quite witty to the point where she’s able to use the trait to her advantage and outsmart people without much thought or hesitation. Her strong sense of character has let her use the trait in a variety of ways, often to her own advantage. Although Belle says she desires for adventure, she also wishes for a friend who could accept her for who she is, due to the criticism she frequently gets.
Backstory: Having grown up in a small village with her father, after her mother passed away, Belle was often seen as an outcast due to Belle’s high opinion of magic, for the reason being they tend to view it as useless. When Belle decided to visit the bookstore one day; she overheard a couple talking about a school in a city where people of all kinds lived in harmony. Then upon checking out her books; Belle had asked the owner if knew anything about the city, to which he replied with a simple yes. He explained he would get books all over from people who originally lived in the city, but nobody would read them. Fascinated, Belle asked if she could take a look at the books as she wanted to learn more about the city, but ended up being more surprised when she learned Belle could keep them since she seemed so interested. So once she got home, Belle began to read everything she could to brush up on Lunaville and the magical world that surrounded her.
It wasn’t for much longer when Belle received a call from the headmistress of Lunaville’s Arcane Magi Academy to discuss an opportunity at their school. When they met; Isabelle revealed she found out about her through the owner of the bookshop and telling her she was in the search for a new English and Drama teacher, wondering if Belle would like to take over. Although she was slightly taken aback by the offer, Belle initially declined as she couldn’t imagine leaving her father all by himself. So Isabelle came up with a proposal: she could have her father live with her in the school, and her father can use the school’s tools to work on his inventions. Hesitant at first; Belle ended up agreeing after looking to her father for advice, though she was actually pretty delighted to know she could have a chance to share her love of learning and magic without being perceived as odd.
Realizing she was about to go on an adventure she had always dreamt about; Belle packed her bags and the books she wanted to bring for pleasure on the train. With her father by her side; Belle couldn’t wait to see what new and exciting things she’ll learn at Arcane, as well as the new books to read in the school’s library.
