Teacher: Kazuaki Nanaki
Time Frame: Late Morning. 10 AM to 11 AM. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Information: This class focuses on the mathematics for both magic and non-magic users. While the class will practice different types of math, the main focus will be using math in the real world outside the classroom. There are also lessons about certain spells that rely on math. Most of the topics will be picked based on a student survey at the beginning of class, but topics such as Algebra, Magic and Math, and Math in the Real World are mandatory.
Requirements:
Notebooks
Pens and Pencils
Folders
Index cards
Rulers
Calculator
Textbooks and worksheets will be provided in class
Topics:
Algebra
Calculus
Geometry
Probability
Statistics
Magic and Math
Math in the Real World
Assignments and Exams:
Homework would be provided every Thursday except when there is a quiz or test. Then there will be a review sheet. Quizzes usually happen every other week depending how far the class goes on the topic. There will be two major tests for the class. The first one deals with the different topics in math the class has learned. The second tests how to apply those math skills in the real world. The second and final exam will consist of word problems and formulas/spells. For magic users, they could demonstrate a spell using the math skills they learned in class for extra credit. For non-magic users, they can earn extra credit by showing how to solve a real life scenario. If the spell/demonstration calls for it, the student may use a partner to help them.
Mr. Nanaki will also schedule tutoring or one-on-one sessions during the weekend if any student feels like they are stuck.
Important Note: Do NOT try to escape class if Nanaki falls asleep in the middle of it! Although he might be deep asleep, he will still be aware if a student is missing in his class. Plus, it is rude and you'll get in trouble.
